"Hell no, not on the Row!" The London street most famously associated with bespoke tailoring houses, Savile Row was swarmed with dapper protesters on Monday. The "modest band" was up in arms (well-cut arms, no doubt) about the possible inclusion of an Abercrombie & Fitch, oh thee of the half-naked employees, blackout curtains, and innuendoed tees. Feels like a battle the stodgier Brit set has been fighting for a while now: the modernization (they liken it to "cheapening") of an area so steeped in history. But whether or not the hesitancy to change is wasted breath from several stiff-lips, we'll admit it'll hurt to have the first hit come from the Fitch. And if it's down to two-piece bikinis versus three-piece suits on Savile Row, we're siding with the mob. No one's ever sold a four thousand dollar suit near the food court.

Since we've already established that we care perhaps a little bit too much about the sartorial choices of musicians, we'd like to throw another one into the ring: Gemini Club, a Chicago indie-electronic act who dropped an album last week (Here We Sit) and a video today ("Can't Believe You Said That," below). Just take a moment to admire the well-cut suits, the vest, the bow-tie, even the singer's damn haircut. (Hat-tip: we are not the first ones to admire this.) Throw in the other elements of the video—a half-naked girl and some solid umbrella game—and you've got a pretty legit GQ-approved band. Credit where it's due, bros.

It's that timeless film noir image: the hardboiled detective in a trench coat stands on a street corner in the pouring rain. Wearing that sturdy trench, the weather is insignificant, leaving said detective to focus instead on a cigarette and some furrowing introspection.

Everyone knows the Italians and Brits make great ties, but there is some serious under-the-radar neckwear being stitched up right in New York City. Ed Morel started Panta Clothing a few years ago by selling ties on Styleforum, and has expanded into scarves, trousers, and sport coats, along with launching his own online store. The tailored clothing isn't all up yet, but that's no reason to sleep on the ties.

Just like any gent worth his salt swaps his tweed jacket for linen when the weather turns, your tie should reflect the season as well. There are unlined, raw silk ties in bright colors (the soft purple, above, is a favorite), a six-fold made from light blue Loro Piana silk, linen, wool blend, and even a "denim" tie made from a Zegna wool, cashmere, mohair mix.

The ties are all slim, but not skinny, so they look good on anyone. A few are even available in longer lengths for tall guys. A cool tie you'll actually want to wear is a necessity for spring, and these are some of the best.

Check out the entire collection, here.
